Gary Malis serves as Chief Strategy & Capital Markets Officer and Partner at PRMG, where he helps guide the firm’s long-term strategy, capital markets execution, and growth through changing market cycles.
Known for his disciplined approach and strategic clarity, Gary plays a central role in ensuring PRMG balances strong execution with scalable, sustainable growth and creating long-term business partnerships.
With more than three decades in mortgage finance, Gary has led organizations through transformation at the highest levels. His experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of First Magnus Financial, where he oversaw operations, finance, capital markets, and investor relationships. As well as many years as an industry consultant advising some of the nation’s largest independent mortgage banks through periods of expansion, disruption, and market stress. Across roles, he is recognized for building durable platforms, strengthening capital structures, and navigating complexity with precision.
Beyond PRMG, Gary is an active contributor across the industry. He serves on multiple advisory boards, collaborates with technology and product leaders to shape market standards, and is a frequent speaker and panelist on capital markets and strategy. His leadership has been recognized with honors including Housing Wire’s Finance Leaders and Vanguard awards, and he currently serves as Co-Chair of the IMB Executive Council.
Gary is also the co-founder of Panoramic Capital Academy, reflecting his commitment to developing the next generation of mortgage leaders and sharing the practical insights gained over his career.
Outside of work, Gary values balance and connection. He enjoys gardening, remains a loyal supporter of the University of Illinois, and has a lifelong appreciation for New York City. A former coach, he continues to serve as Executive Director of the Lute Olson Basketball Academy. Most importantly, he is a devoted husband to his wife, Andrea, and a proud father to their two children, Caleb and Campbell.
